The Ritual
Flexi member Will Wright has upload a new video - The Ritual.
An atmospheric exploration of a demonic evocation conducted by a contemporary occultist
The Ritual was made as an exploration of the Occult Horror genre, setting out to bring the British influences of Hammer Horror and Clive Barker’s Hellraiser up to date. This short addresses the issues within Western horror’s preoccupation with stock aesthetics and religious reference points with an insight into contemporary occultism.
It received official selection at H.P Lovecraft Film Festival in Los Angeles and Portland 2011.

Collabor8te - Initiative Launched for Short Film-makers

Collabor8te is a new platform for short film-making, designed to champion talented film-makers from the United Kingdom and Ireland. It will support the whole production process from script development through to production and distribution of new short films.
The initiative will produce up to eight short films during 2012, with budgets up to £10,000. The funding provider will develop, fund and produce the selected films entirely, with no necessity for applicants to contribute finances from their own resources.
Scripts at up to 15 pages in length and of any genre are eligible. Ten selected scripts will be developed by The Bureau and Rankin Film, with up to eight scripts going into production by Rankin Film. These short films will complete their run on the international film festival circuit before being exhibited on DazedTV.
Collabor8te is particularly interested in funding narrative films, with strong stories and characters. However, a broad array of styles, mediums and genres can be funded and are actively encouraged.
New and established film-makers and scriptwriters operating in the UK and Ireland may apply. Scriptwriters do not need to have any previous film credits nor does it have to be their first short film.
The deadline for submission of applications is 3 October 2011.
For details on how to apply please go here, good luck film makers!
