The Pigeon-hole Project

In the new Slack Space ‘Long Gallery’ near the Post Room, there is a bank of delightful old wooden pigeon-holes.
As part of their 3rd Birthday celebrations Slack Space are inviting artists to make a piece of 3D art/sculpture to fit into these boxes on a semi-permanent basis.
Each box measures approximately: 35cm wide x 25cm high x 38cm deep.
Paula MacGregor is the lead artist for this project, please address any questions to her via email labelled ‘Pigeon-hole project’
A very exciting project indeed. We look forward to seeing a sea of work from local artists displayed here.
Call for artists!
Local artist Paula MacGregor is looking for artists who would like to run a creative workshop for Slack Space.
They cannot offer any payment but may be able to help with the materials. Artists are invited to host three hour workshops for adults during the daytime, evening, or at the weekend. Whatever suits you.
Paula is the workshop co-ordinator and can help and advise you. If you have a craft skill but have not run a workshop before, this could be the perfect place to start. Paula will support you as much as you need it!
Contact Paula via email if you can offer anything. Some requests and suggestions are: batik, carving, printing, scrapbooking…. or maybe you can do something they haven’t thought of!

The Slack Space Christmas Show is a get-together and party will take place at their amazing new venue in Victoria Place on Saturday 17th December from 7pm until late. It will be a bring your own drinks with a contribution to the food table affair.
Joint hem for a wonderful evening with at least three hours of music, songs, monologues, readings, dances- all with a christmas theme. It cant happen without you taking part, so they are asking any local creative would like to perform.
If you can find a good Christmas-themed reading or comedy routine ( family oriented, please) or a monologue, poetry a skit or sketch , or a song or instrumental that would be wonderful. It can be traditional, or it can be contemporary. It could even be a carol or even a dance. Whatever you feel like offering - if its fun and Christmas-themed Slack Space would love it!
Let Dorian Kelly know if you would like a slot, and give an idea of a broad outline and what it will consist of. If you need more information on Slack Space email colchesterslackers@gmail.com.
